Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using MeterBoard ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

MeterBoard is a GPS-based fare calculation and fleet management application that provides:

  • Real-time fare calculation based on customizable formulas
  • GPS route tracking and trip recording
  • Fleet management and member tracking
  • Trip history and reporting

3. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account
  • One person may not maintain more than one free account

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the App in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Not use the App while driving in a manner that is unsafe or violates traffic laws
  • Provide accurate fare information to your passengers/clients
  • Not attempt to manipulate GPS data, fare calculations, or trip records
  • Not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Not use the App for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose

5. Fare Calculation Disclaimer

MeterBoard is a calculation tool, not a certified taxi meter. The fares calculated by MeterBoard are estimates based on GPS data and user-configured formulas. We do not guarantee:

  • The accuracy of GPS-based distance measurements
  • That calculated fares comply with local taxi regulations
  • That the App meets legal requirements for commercial fare metering in your jurisdiction

It is your responsibility to ensure compliance with local transportation laws and regulations.

6. Fleet Management

  • Fleet owners are responsible for managing their fleet members and fare templates
  • Fleet owners must have proper authorization to track member locations
  • Members consent to location sharing within fleets they voluntarily join
  • Fleet owners are responsible for ensuring their use complies with applicable labor and privacy laws

7. Subscriptions and Payments

7.1 Plans & Pricing
  • Free tier: Limited features with advertisements. No payment required.
  • MeterBoard VIP (Monthly): US $2.99 per month (or local equivalent), billed monthly. Unlocks ad-free experience, unlimited formulas, fleet features, performance dashboard, and other VIP benefits described on the subscription screen and on our pricing page.
  • Local prices in other currencies are displayed at the point of purchase and may vary based on Apple App Store / Google Play Store regional pricing.
7.2 Billing & Auto-Renewal
  • Payment will be charged to your Apple ID or Google account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Your subscription automatically renews for the same period (monthly) unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price unless you cancel.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing. If pricing changes, we will provide at least 30 days' advance notice and (where required by Apple or Google) ask you to consent to the new price before it takes effect.
7.3 Managing or Cancelling Your Subscription
  • iOS: Open the iOS Settings app → tap your name → Subscriptions → select MeterBoard → Cancel Subscription.
  • Android: Open Google Play Store → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → select MeterBoard → Cancel subscription.
  • You will continue to have access to paid features through the end of the current billing period after cancellation.
  • Cancelling a subscription does not delete your account or your data. See Section 13 to delete your account.
7.4 Refunds
  • All subscription payments are processed by Apple or Google. Refund requests must be submitted directly to them, in accordance with their respective policies: Apple — Request a refund · Google Play refund.
  • We cannot issue refunds for purchases processed through these platforms.
7.5 EU/EEA/UK Right of Withdrawal
  • If you are a consumer resident in the EU, EEA, or UK, you generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services purchased online.
  • By starting to use the subscription immediately after purchase, you expressly request immediate performance and acknowledge that you will lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed. You may still cancel future auto-renewals at any time as described above.

8. Advertisements

Free tier users will see advertisements provided by Google AdMob. VIP subscribers and fleet members using fleet formulas are exempt from advertisements.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the App are owned by MeterBoard and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App.

10. Data and Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.

11. Service Availability

  • We strive to maintain 24/7 service availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access
  • We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects service availability
  • GPS accuracy depends on your device hardware and environmental conditions
  • Some features require an active internet connection

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • MeterBoard is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • We are not responsible for fare disputes between drivers and passengers
  • We are not liable for any loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim

13. Account Termination

  • You may delete your account and all associated personal data at any time directly within the app at Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion is processed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., tax or financial records).
  • Cancelling an active subscription does not automatically delete your account; subscription and account are managed separately (see Section 7 for subscription cancellation).
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
  • Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. We will notify users of significant changes through the App or email.

15. App Store and Platform Terms

The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The following terms apply in addition to these Terms and govern the relationship between you, MeterBoard, and the relevant platform provider:

  • Acknowledgement: You acknowledge that these Terms are entered into between you and MeterBoard only, and not with Apple Inc. or Google LLC. MeterBoard, not Apple or Google, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
  • Scope of License: The license granted to you for the App is limited to a non-transferable license to use the App on any Apple-branded or Google Play-compatible device that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions or the Google Play Terms of Service.
  • Maintenance and Support: MeterBoard is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services in connection with the App. Apple and Google have no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services.
  • Warranty: MeterBoard is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple and Google have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App.
  • Product Claims: MeterBoard, not Apple or Google, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your possession and/or use of the App, including but not limited to: (a) product liability claims; (b) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (c) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
  • Intellectual Property Rights: In the event of any third party claim that the App or your possession and use of the App infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, MeterBoard, not Apple or Google, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such intellectual property infringement claim.
  • Legal Compliance: You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Third-Party Beneficiary: You acknowledge and agree that Apple Inc. and Google LLC, and their respective subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and that, upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple and Google will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction. Consumers resident in the EU, EEA, or UK retain the protection of mandatory provisions of consumer law in their country of residence.
